With former Lai Chuen Yuen as center, set a cultural & green trail to reinforce the cultural image of Kreta Ayer and restore its connection to its past.
As there is urgency of climate emergency in resource limited Singapore, we propose to reuse and retrofit existing buildings to minimize embodied carbon footprint

Opera Space Restoration
Restore a series of former theatre spaces, including the former Lai Chuen Yuen and the former Majestic, introduce Cantonese opera performances, so as to revitalize the opera culture but not limits to Cantonese Operas;
Opera Street

Set opera art installations along the streets to create opera-themed touring routes.

Opera Education
During the day time, use the Lai Chuen Yuen, the Majestic and Kreta Ayer People's Theatre as opera art schools to promote opera culture.

Opera Commercial
Introduce opera theme and opera space into the commercial space by rebuilding opera teahouse and opening opera-themed cultural products shops.
